"He is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing".(Quran 57 : 3)

"And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; and Allah suffices for help and protection".(4:132)

This is an era of science and technology. Scientific experiments are based on experience and observation. If it has an evident proof and reason then it is considered as valid. And if it doesn’t match, then invalid. Science is just one part of the Universe. There are many scientific verses that are present in the Qu’ran which is a clear proof that Quran is revealed by God. Quran is not a scientific journal but it’s a book of religion and guidance for all human civilisation. It’s God’s command for us, His message appeals to our conscience as how to lead our lives, which guides us to the straight path.

The Quran talks about cosmology, the big bang theory, the evolution and some other natural phenomenons at the time of revelation while people were completely ignorant of these terms. Scientific knowledge was just beyond man's reach and perception. God has described about the cosmos and creation of the Universe in different places. But there is a verse which specifically describes about the begginning of creation which compliments the most accepted view in recent modern times based after scientific research and evidence that, the whole solar system had at first been one burning gaseous mass, and through its internal explosion it has been divided to huge parts, and then they have solidated to form the existing heavenly bodies, or the planets of the solar system that spin around themselves, and swim in their elliptical orbits.

Quran says: “Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the Earth were meshed together and then We ripped them apart? And then We made of water everything living? Would they still not believe” ? (Quran 21 : 30)

The age of the universe is estimated 14 billion years ago (But still no one is able to give exact details of the creation of the heavens and the earth) yet it is still expanding today, and billions of years from now it might recollapse by its own gravity. Quran does not speak against it so it may be possible that the Big Bang theory is pretty much appropriate. Note the quran does not change in its claim, it conveys ideas such that it encompasses them from the general view and God has left the specifics to be acquired by man in this world, by seeking knowledge. According to the theory..the universe has come into existence from condition of non-existence. There was no matter, energy, and time. All came into existence with big explosion. The atoms in the universe were all joint together in one tiny mass, before a mass explosion caused everything to disperse, it was a cosmos then divided into many atoms.

The Arabic words “ratq and fataq” are used. The word ratq can be translated into “entity” “sewn to” “joined together” or “closed up”. The meaning of these translations all circulate around something that is mixed and that has a separate and distinct existence. The verb fataq is translated into “We unstitched” “We clove them asunder” “We separated” or “We have opened them”. These meanings imply that something comes into being by an action of splitting or tearing apart. The sprouting of a seed from the soil is a good example of a similar illustration of the meaning of the verb fataq.

In the Quran, the Heavens expanded from a single point. Cosmologists just confirmed the existence of “Dark Energy”, a mysterious repulsive force that acts in opposite to gravity. As the distance increases, the attractive gravitational force decreases but this mysterious repulsive force increases. This repulsive force is pushing galaxies apart; the greater the distance the greater the repulsion. Scientists today do not know what this “Dark Energy” is, but they know that it is causing the entire universe to expand at an increasing rate. Hence Quran highlights the important aspect of the universe, so we can’t completely rely on science as scientific theory may go wrong in the future turn out to be more than what we thought. As no matter how much knowledge and understanding mankind attains, they will still inevitably make mistakes. However, the Quran clearly claims unlike science or any other human authority, that is most accurate and will remain unchangable in its claims and prophecies.

Importantly Quran’s message is universal it’s not only for some class or group of people, it appeals to all kind of people including scientists, one of the scientists was Maurice Bucaille reverted to Islam after discovering many scientific facts and had written in the book “The Quran and Modern Science”. Quran says “Had it been from other than God, they would surely, have found therein many a contradiction” [al-Nisa 4:82]. The Quranic revelations explains that “The Galaxy speaks about its Creator”. Truly there is a Creator for all this creation. This Universe has been designed and created by God. Science changes rapidly, theories come and go but religion of God will always remain the same in its core belief.

He [God] is the originator of the heavens and the earth”….[ Qur’an 6:101]
